Description:
Our Enhanced Performance Fiber Unit (EPFU) is an TAKFLY developed air blown fibre micro cable, containing a state-of-theart, specifically designed polymeric sheath, optimised for smooth blowing installations. The Fibre Unit meets the requirements of today, in which the cable dimensions are getting smaller and smaller - Fibre Units are characterised by their low weight, small outer diameter, easy handling and long lifetime.

They are compatible with industry standard blowing equipment and are tested on our blowing tracks as well as in practice (blowing lengths of over 2000m with a 12 FU in the Gotthard tunnel in Switzerland). Further tests have shown that the sheath in combination with the single-layer resin, improves blowing performance by up to 50%.

The Fibre Unit is straight forward to use and handle, stripping the fibre can be done quickly with increased reliability. The Fibre Units are delivered in small fibre pans, coiled at an elliptical angle which ensures that the fibre unit can be pulled out smoothly during the blowing process. The fibre pans are lightweight, compact and stackable and - in contrast to a cable drum - can easily be transported in a car.
